Press Release:  The Discovery Museums Annouce Big Changes and More Fun, all Starting March 1.

What’s new at The Discovery Museums in Acton? A whole lot, starting March 1! Metrowest Boston’s children’s and science museums will launch several big changes on March 1, 2010: single-ticket admissions, increased hours, a new website, and free admission to 165+ museums nationwide as a new Member benefit.

A single ticket will now admit visitors to both buildings on The Discovery Museums’ campus: Children’s Discovery and Science Discovery. “Both facilities offer such a wide range of hands-on exhibits for children ages 0-12 that we want everyone to enjoy it all, without having to choose,” said CEO Neil Gordon.

Additionally, the Children’s Discovery building is extending its hours. It will now stay open until 4:30pm, making it more accessible for after-school visitors than its previous 3pm closing time allowed.

“Family-level” Discovery Museum Members will now enjoy free admission to over 165 children’s museums across the country, including 16 right here in New England.  Gordon noted, “The Discovery Museums are simultaneously a comfortable, local spot and a long-time leader in the museum field. As our members travel, they like to visit other children’s museums and now they will be able to do it for free! So start planning your family trips right now!”

For more information, please visit the Museums’ website, www.discoverymuseums.org. Of course, the website is also brand new as of March 1.
