Celebrate Birthdays at The Discovery Museums!

Make your child’s next birthday a memorable occasion by celebrating at the Discovery Museums. Parties are available at either the Children’s Discovery building or the Science Discovery building and include a Museum visit plus the use of our private party room.  Custom package options include unlimited museum time or special activities.

Basic Party Package

Includes 1 ½ - hour Museum visit plus …

• 45 minutes in our private party room
• Museum staff person to assist you in managing your party
• 10% discount on gift shop items purchased at least 7 days in advance       

Basic Party Package Pricing

• $195.00 - up to 18 people, including children and adults
• $10 for each additional person up to a maximum of 25 people
• Options for extending time in the museum are available
• Infants under twelve months are welcome to join the party at no charge

 Museum members receive a 10% discount on party fees and gift bags

Custom Activity Birthday Party Package

Includes all of the elements of the Basic Party Package plus…

• Book extended time in the private party room and enjoy a themed activity of your choice
• Choose from a selection of fun, age appropriate educational activities (see below!)
• Custom Activity Birthday Parties are offered at the Basic Party Rate plus an activity fee per child.

 

Birthday Party Activities For Children of Any Age Face Painting Get “cheeky” with body art!   Classic face painting images available from selected themes will be sure to please children of all ages!  Activity Fee: $3 per child Especially for Younger Children (Ages 2 to 5)            Visit by Bessie! Make your party memorable by having a special guest appearance by our beloved mascot Bessie at your birthday party!  Children will get a Bessie coloring page to take home. Activity Fee: $2 per child Bessie Crowns Toddlers and younger children will enjoy making and wearing crowns fashioned after our beloved mascot, Bessie the Dinosaur!   (2 different age appropriate versions) Activity Fee: $4 per child Bubble Printing Young children love to pop bubbles and will love making bubble designs. In this bubble activity younger children will blow bubbles and print bubble designs on paper as the bubbles pop! A perfect birthday party keepsake! Activity Fee: $3 per child Dinosaur Art Children ages 4 to 5 will love seeing dinosaur and fossils shapes “magically” appear on paper as they use crayons on rubbing plates to create a cool “Prehistoric Picture Book” to take home. Activity Fee: $2 per child Especially for Children Ages 6 to 8 Bubble-ology I Children ages 6 to 8 experiment with bubbles and investigate bubble shapes.  Kids make their own bubble wands and participate in the bubble Olympics! Activity Fee: $5 per child Refrigerator Magnet Art Is your refrigerator bare?  Make some cool refrigerator magnet art with attractive recycled materials. Invite your guests to bring a wallet-sized photo or small treasured item to add to their magnetic masterpiece!! Activity Fee: $5 per child Especially for Older Children (Ages 9 and older) Bubble-ology II Children ages 9 and older experiment with bubbles and investigate bubble shapes. Learn how to perform Bubble Tricks and discover some basic physics principles of bubbles! Activity Fee: $6 per child Spin Art Using a spin art machine designed by our exhibits manager, children create unique artwork with tempera paints suitable for framing as they observe the apparent forces acting on the paint as their designs emerge. Activity Fee: $8 per child Candy Chromatography What makes a blue M&M blue?  Many candies contain colored food dyes.  Analyze the colors of M&M’s or Skittles in a fun, and edible, chromatography experiment! Activity Fee: $7 per child
