Have you ever looked closely at the beautiful patterns and shapes of leaves? Today we will create foliage prints to be used as magnets. You can hang the magnets in your kitchen to brighten even the darkest grey November day with reds and oranges and yellows. You’ll be able to enjoy this fall foliage all year round!

Science Discovery
Solids, liquids, and the slime in between…get your fingers into the world of chemical engineers! Learn how to mix common chemicals to get bouncy, sticky, uncommon results with Brandeis University scientists Susannah Gordon-Messer and Erin Jonasson. TURNING YOUR HOME GREEN

The Discovery Museums are turning green! We’ve installed low flow toilets, energy saving light bulbs, insulation, a solar path light and other energy and water saving devices with funds from the Sudbury Foundation. Tour the museums with Dan Cook of Conservation Solutions to see the changes and hear about their impact. Learn how to do a self-audit of water and energy usage in your own home. Try hands-on activities, ‘do the math’ of water and electricity usage, and take home information that will put you on the road to energy savings and sustainability. Sponsored by the Sudbury Foundation.

Family time is special time! Design your own family tree to take home. Maybe a special relative will fill in some of the names from your family history. You can also make a handprint poem to remember just how big you are today.
