Climbing High: The Discovery Museums in Acton opens new, accessible treehouse

As her 2-year-old son Noah played in the cargo net climb at Discovery Woods in Acton July 16, Qi Wang of Lexington said the little boy's behavior was out of the ordinary.

They arrived for the official opening of the new play area at Discovery Museums at 9:30 a.m., a half-hour after it opened -- "We tried to avoid the crowd." -- and Wang said Noah had already pleasantly surprised her by going down the slide.

"It's amazing," said Wang." He's usually kind of timid, but now he's having fun with all the kids around."

While Noah played in the cargo net, other parents and children filled buckets in the gravel pit, sat in the beaver lodges, made crafts, swung in the nest swing, walked across the Wiggly Bridge and put together collages in the treehouse.
