After-Hours Events

Need An Exciting Event Venue?

Celebrate a special occasion, school family night, or company event with an after-hours rental of The Discovery Museums. We provide experienced staff and distinctive spaces for family get-togethers, meetings, or an evening of food and live music.
Our facility includes free parking for up to 120 cars and is easily accessible from major highways. Rentals are available five evenings a week, from 5:30-11:00 PM in either of our two venues: the Science Discovery Museum or the Children's Discovery Museum.
 
 

 

Science Discovery Museum

At the Science Discovery Museum, visitors of all ages become scientists as they use their senses and critical thinking skills to explore science, math, and engineering concepts in an exciting, hands-on environment. Interactive exhibits and familiar materials encourage children to design experiments and make discoveries about their world.

 

 

 At a Glance:

  • Interactive science exhibits for ages 6 through adult
  • 6,500 sq. ft. over three floors
  • Large, open spaces for live music and food
  • Accommodations for up to 125 guests for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
  • Accommodations for up to 80 guests for buffet service
  • Minimum rental: 2 hours
  • Rental times: 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Fully accessible on all three floors

Children's Discovery Museum

The Children's Discovery Museum offers three floors of hands-on, child-sized fun. Each room in this historic Victorian-style house has a unique theme designed to inspire young children to explore and discover the world around them. Surprises are around every corner and every square inch of the house offers inviting spaces.

  • Rental times:  5:30 PM to 11:00 PM
  • Partially accessible on the first floor only

Discovery Classroom

The Discovery Classroom is a separate building that may be rented for off-site meetings or a sit-down dinner. For after-hours rentals, the classroom may be used for extra catering space.

At a Glance:

  • Accommodations for up to 30 people
  • Approximately 20×40 feet in size.
  • Heated/air conditioned and wheelchair accessible.
  • Includes a small microwave oven, covered porch area, apartment-sized refrigerator with freezer and a restroom.

Catering Services

Catered events are welcome at The Discovery Museums. We are happy to provide a list of museum-approved caterers.  An additional custodial fee of $30 for events up to three hours ($50 for parties over three hours) will be applied to all catered parties. Alcohol may be served at rental events with an insurance rider or by using an insured bartender. A copy of the insurance rider must be given to The Discovery Museums prior to the event. Weekend dates book early so please plan ahead.
