PEEP Science Adventures: Playing With Wet Mud!

Come and study the properties of one of the Earth's most fascinating materials: mud! What happens when we squirt in more water? How about adding scoops of dirt? By mixing different amounts of dirt and water together we'll study the art of making perfect mud! Explore sound through singing and playing. Move, make music, listen, learn, and get a multi-sensory workout! Music improves your child’s memory, cognitive development, learning skills, and ability to express emotion. Plus, it’s fun! Miss Carolyn is a professional musician, serves as a faculty member at Indian Hill Music School, and has been a licensed Kindermusik Educator for 7 years.  

FETCH!™ Float My Boat

Drop-in 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Science Discovery Museum

Even large ships weighing hundreds of thousands of tons stay afloat. But how? Investigate floating by building tinfoil boats and loading them with pennies until they sink. Discover how a boat’s size and shape make a difference in how much of a load it can carry. Time to roll up the shirtsleeves and dive in! GEODESIC DOMES 

Drop-in 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Science Discovery 

Discover how math, geometry, structure, and engineering come together as you help construct a 6-foot dome! Learn about Buckminster Fuller, inventor of the geodesic dome, and see pictures of geodesic structures from sports stadiums and houses, to buckyballs, carbon nanotubes, diatoms, and viruses! Find out how to use everyday materials to create your own small dome at home.
