Discovery Museum Welcomes New Board Member Andrew Magee

Acton, MA – Discovery Museum is pleased to welcome Andrew Magee to its Board of Directors.

Andrew Magee is a retired partner at Epsilon Associates, Inc., an environmental engineering and consulting company specializing in securing environmental approvals for real estate, energy, and infrastructure development projects for public and private sector clients. He has more than 35 years of experience in the conduct and management of environmental studies and scientific investigations.

Andy has been very active in local governance and served two terms on Acton’s Select Board; he currently chairs the Town’s Open Space Committee, a sub-committee of the Conservation Committee.  He has also served multiple terms on Acton’s Sewer Advisory Committee, the Water Resources Advisory Committee, the Conservation Commission, and the Community Preservation Committee.

He has been involved in conservation activities for many years and serves on the boards of both the Sudbury Valley Trustees, where he is a former Board President, and the Massachusetts Land Trust Coalition, for which he is the current Treasurer.

Andy has also served for many years on the Discovery Museum’s Building Committee, which, among other significant campus projects, oversaw the construction of the new Discovery Museum building in 2018.

Andy holds both a BA and MA in Geology from Boston University. He is an avid bird watcher and has “birded” much of North America. He has lived with his family in Acton for more than 37 years.

Now, Discovery Museum has begun implementation of our 5-year Sustainability Plan and is well along into our conversion to 100% solar power. Andy’s expertise, perspective, and passion for environmental sustainability and conservation will be relied upon as we complete this and other essential steps toward the Museum’s more sustainable future.”
